Mob killing: man attacked and set on fire

Police in Thohoyandou are looking for a group of people responsible for the brutal murder an unknown man yesterday (Sunday) morning in Mbilwi village outside Thohoyandou.

LIMPOPO – The body was found by a passerby in a street in Mbilwi village.
It is alleged the deceased was attacked by a group of people who killed and set him on fire. The motive for the killing is unknown and no arrests have been made.
Police investigations continue.

Provincial Commissioner LT. General Nneke Ledwaba once again called on members of the community to refrain from taking the law into their own hands. He asked that if they know the whereabouts of a suspected person or witness a crime being committed, that they call the police who will arrest the guilty parties. He went on to say residents must act responsibly.
The General encouraged people of the province to support community based crime prevention initiatives and strategies including Community Policing Forums (CPF), Sector Policing, street committees, rural safety and the neighbourhood watches.
