Five arrested for kidnapping, murder of Seshego man

The deceased was kidnapped at his parental home by a group of men on 30 November, says the police

POLOKWANE – Five suspects, aged 18, 28, 47 and 54, were arrested for the kidnapping and killing of a 25-year-old Seshego resident on 30 November, says the police.

The police in Seshego made the arrest during a special joint operation conducted by SAPS detectives and crime intelligence on Sunday, according to Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

“It is alleged the deceased, Kamogelo Mogolla, who was accused of stealing the motor vehicle wheel caps belonging to one of the suspects, was kidnapped at his parental home by a group of men travelling in a Toyota Quantum.”

Mogolla was brutally assaulted and his body was thrown into the street where passerby’s found him and took him to a nearby hospital. He had sustained multiple injuries throughout his body and was certified dead on arrival,” said Ngoepe.

During the arrest a  9mm licenced firearm belonging to one of the suspects, believed to have been used to assault the deceased,  was confiscated, added Ngoepe.

The suspects will appear before Seshego Magistrate Court soon.  Police investigations continue concluded Ngoepe.
