POLOKWANE – This movie house is under the ownership of Savannah Mall and opened over the weekend.
Movies @ Savannah will operate seven days a week with an average of five movies being screened in the four theatres. 3D-movies tickets cost a mere R45 per person and for normal screened movies it will cost as little as R35 per person. Movies @ Savannah also has a catering facility where movie fanatics can purchase freshly prepared popcorn, a variety of cooldrinks, ice slushies and sweet and salty snacks.
Savannah Mall Manager, Lionel van Lis, says the mall’s management realised there was public demand for movies.
He added that with the movies re-established in Savannah Mall, it will certainly give the lower level of the mall a new lease on life, which was also part of the plan. Van Lis says the movies will also enlarge the movie viewers’ fraternity in Polokwane, especially those residing near Savannah Mall.
“From a management perspective we are really excited at the prospect of offering our shoppers movie entertainment at competitive prices. Our clients asked and we listened,” he explains.
These customer needs will further be met with the addition of a Checkers retail store in Savannah Mall which van Lis says will further enhance the lifestyle theme of the mall.
He explains that although only four movie theatres are currently open, a further two theatres will be opened soon.
