LIMPOPO – Their three-roomed house was destroyed by heavy rains in December 2015.
According to the Spokesperson for the Mecklenburg Police Station, Const Kgalake Mampuru, the four family members sleep in a single dilapidated room as they cannot afford to revamp the damaged one. They use the room as a kitchen and also a bedroom.
“Their parents are no longer together. Their mother stays in Bela-Bela while their father has moved out too. Both are reportedly unemployed.
The kids are all under the age of 18 and rely on social grants,” Mampuru said. The Mecklenburg police are pleading with good Samaritans to help. Those interested in assisting the Swafo family can contact Mampuru on 082 833 2573 or (015) 615 0204.
