Doom: not in our name says Faith Chapel SA’s senior pastor

"Citizens need to be cautioned about the foretold coming of false prophets who will do incomparable miracles just to dilute the pure gospel of Christ and mislead believers."

LIMPOPO – These are the words of Pastor Derick Mosoana, Senior Pastor at Faith Chapel SA, following the recent outcry on social media after photos were published of Lethebo Rabalago, dubbed the “prophet of Doom”, spraying the insect repellent on members of a church in Mookgophong.

“This is not the first horrific incident on vulnerable citizens who will go to the extreme just to ease their daily frustration,” said Mosoana.

Mosoana believes that, “any methodology used for healing that seeks to humiliate and threaten your health should be interpreted as nothing but the good work of the devil and nothing else.

“Pastors must refrain from using their anointing to abuse followers just to prove their ability and to increase members, they should lead the war against any religious abuse without fear and or favor. Churches are a place of worship and not a circus.”

He further says: “Celebrity pastors to come out of their closets and say ‘not in our name’, unless if they condone such inhuman act of the devil masquerading as holly and biblical”.

The Commission for the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Cultural, Religious and Linguistic Communities (CRL) Commissioner, Edward Mafadza called on people who had problems with the pastor’s practices to come forward. Mafadza said it was difficult to take action against the pastor as people go the church willingly for assistance.

According to police, Rabalago is free to go as he pleases until proven otherwise by authorities. No official complaint has been made, said Police Spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe.

“We will not hesitate to put Rabalago behind bars if a criminal case against him is laid. But until such time, Rabalago is a free man,” Ngoepe said.
