Notice: planned water shut-off on Wednesday

The areas that will be affected are as follows:

POLOKWANE – Parts of Polokwane including Flora Park, the Peter Mokaba Stadium as well as the hotel opposite the Stadium, Park Inn, will be affected by a planned water shut-off on Wednesday, 30 November.

“Lepelle Northern Water will implement an urgent planned shut-off of bulk water pipes pumping water to Krugersburg reservoirs. The purpose of the shut-off is due to the cutting of the existing pipeline next to Peter Mokaba Stadium to connect the re-routed pipeline as the existing one is on the way of the new road under construction,” says Municipal Spokesperson, Disree Manyane.

“Water from the Olifantspoort Scheme will not be reaching Krugersburg reservoirs during this cut-off period which will start at 06:00 and last for 24 hours.”

As the remedial plan, the levels at the reservoirs are being maintained to ensure that the consumers are not adversely affected by the maintenance. Polokwane Municipality will have water tankers on standby to assist the areas which are affected by the cut-off. We appeal to our residents to continue using water sparingly since the resources supplying water to the Municipality are still under pressure.

“It should be noted that the current rainfall has not significantly improved the situation at the catchment sources. We apologise for any inconveniences caused to the public during the cut-off period.”
