POLOKWANE – A 30-year-old taxi driver from Mabokelele village in Moletjie outside the city was arrested for the murder of a fellow taxi driver in Seshego yesterday (Sunday).

According to a statement issued by Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, the suspect allegedly attacked the 25-year-old deceased while both taxis were waiting at a red robot behind the Seshego police station.

“The two taxis were waiting at a red robot when the driver of the one taxi jumped out of his vehicle, ran towards the taxi in the front of his and slapped the driver. He later produced a firearm and shot the driver who was still seated behind the steering wheel at close range, killing him,” Ngoepe said.

“During the arrest, one 7,65 mm pistol with one magazine, two live rounds of ammunition and one empty cartridge were confiscated,” Ngoepe continued.
