Mahwelereng police ready for action

The Mahwelereng Police Cluster kicked off the Arrive Alive Campaign for the festive season last Friday in Tshamansi village and four suspects were arrested.

LIMPOPO – Mahwelereng Police Spokesperson, Const Sello Leso, reported: “During the road block four men, all in their thirties, were arrested for the possession of unlicensed firearms and cartridges.

“Investigations are ongoing and the suspects will soon appear before the Mokerong Magistrate’s Court”.

Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe stated that sting joint operations are up and running throughout Limpopo to ensure a safer festive season.

“Dedicated teams of operations at all levels were established to deal with any criminality head on,” Ngoepe continued.

The police appeal to the community to help them win the fight against crime by adhering to the following rules:

• Do not purchase stolen goods.

• Stop hitch-hiking and do not give hikers a lift.

• Refrain from alcohol abuse.

• When leaving for the holidays make sure your house is secured and ask a friend to keep an eye out for any suspicious behaviour.

• Do not fall for bogus scams and take care of your life stock.

Ngoepe further encourages the community to contact the various cluster commanders if they do not get hold of the police station.
