Kidnap saga: Jordaan case postponed to early 2017

According to the Spokesperson for the Hawks, Lt. Matimba Maluleke, the case against Berdine Jordaan has been postponed to 19 January 2017.

POLOKWANE – Jordaan was arrested in July after a police investigation led authorities to Musina where she, her five-year-old daughter and a 14-year-old girl were discovered hiding in a cupboard in the house of the second accused, Leon du Preez. After being questioned by police, it was ascertained that Jordaan was responsible for the kidnapping of the 14-year-old girl, however, the reason therefore is still unclear.

Du Preez, who had a warrant of arrest against his name for failing to appear in court on the previous occasion, was in court this time along with Jordaan. “The warrant of arrest against him was cancelled as he gave reasons to the court for his failure to appear,” says Maluleke.
