Blackout hits city this Friday

Make sure to keep an eye out for the best local Black Friday deals as consumers are sure to save a buck or two during these sales.

LIMPOPO – Following its phenomenal success last year, Black Friday will return to stores again on 25 November, bringing with it low prices and great deals.

Known for being an American tradition, Black Friday has come to South African stores for the second time. Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving in the United States, and is widely regarded as the beginning of the Christmas shopping season. Most major retailers open very early (and more recently during overnight hours) and offer low prices with some shops offering up to 80% discount on all goods.

Many local stores have begun punting their Black Friday deals, with Makro offering 35% off goods on Friday and Saturday, as well as Wimpy, whose Black Friday deal includes buying one Cheese & Bacon Burger with chips for only R64,90, and getting an extra one free.

Pick n Pay will also be hosting specials on 27 November only with a one-day sale, as well as Checkers who are promising even bigger deals than before.
