‘Do not spay Doom onto people’s faces’ – Tiger Brands

On Monday the manufacturer of Doom issued a warning to consumers.

LIMPOPO – This follows the publishing of photos of a man, dubbed the “prophet of Doom”, spraying the insect repellent on members of a church over the weekend in Mookgophong.

A statement on Tiger Brands official Facebook page reads as follows: “Tiger Brands has become aware of the recent actions which have been circulating on social media by a person referring to himself as Prophet (Detective) Lethebo. This shows Doom being sprayed into people’s faces as part of faith worship. We find this practice alarming and extremely concerning, and want to make very clear that it is unsafe to spray any Doom or any aerosol onto people’s faces. Doom has been formulated to kill specific insects which are detailed on the cans, and the packaging has very clear warnings which must be adhered to. Using this product for purposes other than what it is intended for poses risks and is therefore dangerous. Tiger Brands is in the process of contacting the Prophet to ask him to refrain from such practice.

In the photos posted on the Mount Zion General Assembly’s (MZGA) Facebook page, Prophet Lethebo Rabalago (24), born in Zebediela, can be seen spraying insect repellent on numerous people during a church service in Mookgophong as a form of anointment to “heal and deliver” them from their struggles.

When asked why he sprays insect repellent on his congregants, Lethebo said: “Doom is just a name, but when you speak it to, it becomes a healing product it does. People get healed and delivered through Doom. It is not by might nor by power, but by the Holy Spirit. Through spraying the Doom, I anoint them”.

He further recited the book of Mark, 16:15-18: “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptised will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name, they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well”.

The 24-year-old prophet said he was already elected in his mother’s womb to become a prophet and that through God he has healed thousands of people.
