Muslim Trust digs deep to assist Nirvana Primary School

The Polokwane Muslim Trust Welfare Fund assisted Nirvana Primary School recently by fixing one of their boreholes.

POLOKWANE – “This school is a big part of the Muslim community and we would like to assist them where needed. That is why we decided to get help to open the borehole for them,” Ahmad Leriba from the fund explains.

School principal, Thoko Mhlongo, and treasurer of the Student Governing Body (SGB), Sarel Martin, explains that because the borehole is situated close to the school’s sport field, they will now be able to maintain the field.

“Some days we must let the parents know their children cannot come to school or must be collected early, because we have no water. Now that the borehole is fixed, we will not only be able to give them drinking water and usage of the toilets, but also start a vegetable garden again and get the soccer field useable again. We are extremely thankful to the Muslim Trust Welfare Fund for their contribution,” Mhlongo says.

Martin says they managed to drill to a depth of 100m to get a good flow of water.
