LIMPOPO – The murder case was remanded until 28 November to allow for further police investigation said Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe.
The accused who was previously arrested in Lulekani outside Phalaborwa and sentenced to six years imprisonment for two separate incidents of assault (GBH), will remain in police custody until his next court appearance added Ngoepe.
According to reports the 40-year-old deceased was last seen in the company of her husband over the weekend. She was later reported missing at a local police station. A joint search party consisting of various police units and local community members discovered her body in a bush outside the village on Monday afternoon.
“There were no visible injuries on the deceased’s body because she was in a state of decomposition but a post mortem will be conducted,” Ngoepe said.
The motive behind her death is still unknown but domestic violence cannot be ruled out. Police investigations continue.
