The same group set a parked taxi alight and damaged two others.

The suspects then kidnapped a man at the scene but released him soon afterward while making their escape.

The situation is now calm and the POP is busy monitoring the area.

Police Spokesperson, Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe reports no fatalities and while one of the injured victims remains in hospital, the other has been treated for minor wounds and has been discharged.

Ngoepe further confirms no arrests have been made and cases of malicious damage to property, attempted murder, assault and public violence are being investigated.

Taxi Associations are advised that in case of conflicts, they should make use of services of legal structures including the Taxi Council and the Department of Transport to address their issues rather than resorting to violence.
