Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga shed light on the findings of the department’s ongoing preliminary investigation of the Mathematics Paper 2 leak

POLOKWANE – Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga, held a press briefing with the media in Polokwane on Friday, 4 November to shed light on the findings of the department’s ongoing preliminary investigation of the Mathematics Paper 2 leak that came to light a week ago.

The department released a statement confirming several learners had access to a Gr 12 Mathematics Paper 2 question paper before the exam was to be written.

“We have commenced with our investigations and we have engaged the services of the Hawks. We have also opened a case with the South African Police Services,” Motshekga said.

The fate of the learners implicated in the leak is not yet known.
