When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at around 18:00 they found several bodies strewn across the scene while several were walking along the roadside said ER24 Spokesperson, Russel Meiring.
“On further assessment, paramedics found that two men, a woman and a young girl, believed to be 4-years-old, had sustained fatal injuries and were declared dead on the scene. Twelve other patients were found on the scene.”
“Eight patients had sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious and four patients were critically injured,” Meiring added.
Paramedics assessed and treated all patients, providing the critically injured with advanced life support. Once treated, the patients were transported to various hospitals in the area for urgent treatment.
The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations, concluded Meiring.
