‘They are our heroes’

Local residents Lizelle and Mark de Robillard say they are grateful for the assistance they received from the local Community Policing Forum (CPF) and tow truck driver Khell van der Lith.

POLOKWANE –Lizelle explains that her father is the owner of a local truck company in the city, according to her, her father asked one of his workers to clean the premises yesterday (Thursday)  “The man refused  and left work,” she says.
Because the man refused to complete the work, her father only paid him R100 instead of  R120 for the day.
“The man arrived at work today (Friday) and demanded the extra money. We told him that he did not do the work and therefore he was only paid R100.”
She said that the man then jumped on the back of one of the trucks that was leaving saying that he demanded his money and will stay on the truck until he gets paid.
“At this stage my husband told the man to get off the truck. The man shouted at my husband that he will come back in the night and kill me and my children,” says Lizelle.
When Lizelle heard this she called local tow truck driver Khell to assist, within minutes he arrived with members from the different CPF areas, the man was escorted to the Polokwane Police Station.
“I would like to thank these men who without hesitation assisted us. They mean, and do so much for the community. Today we would like to honour them and say thank, you make a difference,” Lizelle says.
