Local and international players in the South African and world economies are congregated at a venue outside Polokwane for the Limpopo Economic Summit that took off early this morning (Friday).
The summit is convened under the theme of an industrialisation path towards creating sustainable jobs and poverty reduction for Limpopo and in his welcome address Premier Stan Mathabatha said that the summit gave them a platform to breathe life into the vision of the Limpopo Development Plan.
In his address Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa commended Mathabatha and the province for convening the summit in these trying times to give impetus to the implementation of Limpopo’s economic development plan.
The summit programme provides for the discussion of issues that include a strategic overview of the provincial development plan and the implementation of the Musina-Makhado Special Econmic Zone as well as commissions that are currently underway.
* More on the summit in next week’s edition of Polokwane Observer.
