Police arrested four suspects during a crime intelligence-driven operation by the Mahwelereng Police cluster in Mokopane on Tuesday afternoon.
Provincial Police Head of Corporate Communication Motlafela Mojapelo said the suspects, aged between 22 and 30, were expected to appear in the Mokopane Magistrate’s Court yesterday (Wednesday).
“We confiscated four firearms including a 9 mm pistol, revolver and pump action shotgun, a vehicle suspected to have been used during several armed robberies, ammunition, laptops and Police uniforms,” Mojapelo said.
The suspects are all from Mahwelereng and according to Mojapelo have been linked to various incidents of business robberies and residential burglaries committed in the area during August this year. More arrests are expected, he added.
Provincial Police Commissioner Nneke Ledwaba commended the team for their sterling work and warned that criminals will be given no second chance especially during the coming Festive Season.
