Did you miss the deadline? Here is how to unblock prepaid meter

After several notices to local residents to update their prepaid electricity meter information by 28 October, several residents found their prepaid electricity meters having been blocked over the weekend

POLOKWANE – These residents were unable to upload electricity.
The municipality has been calling on residents who are owners of properties with prepaid electricity meters to update their information, as they are conducting a data cleansing process on the electricity prepaid system to update customer details on the municipal system.
According to Municipal Spokesperson Matshidiso Mothapo the process comprises prepaid meter owners having to update their profile details relating to prepaid electricity at the municipality.
“There are several ways in which residents could update their information and the municipality urged all residents to make the effort as in the failure to do this they will find that their meters may be blocked after the closing date given,” Mothapo said.
Residents who have found their meters blocked, will have to come into the Polokwane municipal office in the Civic Centre that will be open for residents 09:00 until 16:00.
“When the forms are handed in, it is advisable that the residents demand proof of their admission of the document,” he advised.
“The municipality will not in any way be held responsible for people who suffered damage because of their meters being blocked and they being without electricity if they did not update their account and personal information,” Mothapo said.
