State-of-the-art Multi-Media Centre donated to school

The MTN SA Foundation handed over a brand new multi-media centre to a school in Mankweng that will assist learners with their class work

MANKWENG – General Manager of the MTN SA Foundation, Kusile Mtunzi-Hairwadzi,addressed learners and teachers during the official hand-over and launch of a state-of-the-art Multi-Media Centre at Mountainview Senior Secondary School in Mankweng on Saturday.

Mtunzi-Hairwadzi says the contribution from MTN will forge a good relationship between their organisation, the school and the surrounding communities as well.

“The role of teachers is to educate,” says Mtunzi-Hairwadzi. She says the multi-media system will provide the information teachers need to educate learners and help communicate it to learners.

She says each country has developmental goals and for such goals to be met, the citizens of the country must not shy away from encouraging participation and advancements in mathematics and science.

“Understanding and applying mathematics plays a vital role in socio-economic development,” she says.

MEC for the Limpopo Department of Education, Ishmael Kgetjepe, says for one to be successful in life it takes sweat, determination and hard work.

He explained that the private sector is very critical in the provision of school infrastructure.

“We admit that we have limited resources and we cannot provide everything we want or need to because the backlog is huge,” he says.

Kgetjepe says he believes this initiative will go a long way in assisting learners.

School principal, Matsatsi Mashao, says she believes the state-of-the-art Multi-Media Centre will not only benefit the learners, but the community as well.
