Woman (60s) body dumped behind Sun Meropa property

Vehicle tyre marks were found near the victim says the police

POLOKWANE – The Westenburg Police are investigating a case of inquest after the body of an unknown woman in her 60s was found in the bushes just off the Sun Meropa property along the Tzaneen by-pass outside Polokwane.

The deceased was dressed in traditional attire with black shoes, pantyhose and a traditional doek. She was carrying an old ID book (dompass) that belongs to a man.

According to a statement issued by LT. Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, the cause of death is unknown at this stage but the post-mortem report will provide clarity.

Preliminary investigations at the crime scene found vehicle tyre marks near the victim,

“It is believed the marks were left by a vehicle that can possibly be linked to the crime,” he added.

Police investigations are continuing.
