Living life frame-by-frame

Eazy-Lee captures special moments for people to treasure forever

POLOKWANE – Local photographer Leroy Henry van Zyl, or Eezy-Lee as he is affectionately known as, says he wants to capture fashion, travel the world and network on a global basis. Nothing gives him more pleasure than capturing moments which are treasured forever in memories.

The Westenburg-based photographer says taking pictures is about telling stories which have an impact on people’s lives and he is happy to contribute to the narration. “I help people preserve special moments which they can always look back at.”

He owns Eezy-Lee Photography which he established six years ago. It offers services such as photo shoots and videography. He employs at least two people and aims to grow the business to create employment for more locals. “I am usually the first person to get to an event and the last to leave because I must capture everything from beginning to end. There is no time to rest but I wouldn’t trade my job for anything, this is my passion.”

He is not only a photographer, he is also a graphic designer and says the two go hand-in-hand and he incorporates both in his work. Although he has no formal qualifications, he is thankful to Optix and RJ photography for giving him a chance to learn while working for them. He would also like to open an academy in order to pass on his knowledge to others.

He aspires to work for FashionTV (an international fashion and lifestyle broadcasting television channel).

Eezy-Lee does charity work where he offers his services for free at local functions. His background influenced him to give back to those who are less fortunate. “I grew up in a poor family and we didn’t have much. There were days when we didn’t even have food in the house but we had people who were willing to contribute to our upbringing so I want to do the same for others.”

He is working hard towards his dreams and in the meantime has shown an immense interest in local fashion photography.
