Private school targeted by armed robbers
Two teachers were victim s of an armed robbery at a private school on Tuesday afternoon.
MOKOPANE – Two teachers at Mokopane Destiny Academy (MDA) in Schoeman Street were tied up and robbed of their cell phones by four armed men who gained entrance to the school just after 16:00 on Tuesday afternoon.
According to a teacher at the school the four armed suspects entered the premises in a vehicle. “They tied up two of the teachers who were still on the premises and made away with the teachers’ cell phones, 14 laptops and a projector.”
“No shots were fired and no one was injured during the robbery,” the teacher confirmed. She also said that thankfully, no learners were at the school when the incident took place.
Mokopane Police Spokesperson, Irene Masingi says investigations are ongoing.
