Thatha Zonke zones in on 288 suspected criminals

Over the past five days, suspects between the ages of 20 and 48 have been rounded up and taken into custody by the Thatha Zonke task team, says the police

LIMPOPO –  Thatha Zonke, a joint operation led by Deputy Provincial Commissioner and Crime Detection-Major, General Bafana Linda has led to the arrest of 288 people suspected to have been involved in various robberies, house breakings, rape, assault, theft and carjacking incidents.

Various SAPS detective units, as well as FCS, VIS, Stock Theft Unity and cluster detectives task teams from throughout the province started with the operation on Thursday, 20 October. Over the past five days, suspects between the ages of 20 and 48 have been rounded up and taken into custody by the Thatha Zonke task team.

This is an ongoing operation which will run throughout the festive season and into the new year said Provincial Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Mpoatshe Ngoepe.

Provincial Commissioner, LT. General Nneke Jim Ledwaba, applauded the team on their breakthrough in the fight against crime.

This suspects will be appearing before different Magistrate’s Courts throughout across the province soon. Police investigations are continuing.
