Advice from the police
Per Westenburg Police Spokesperson, Constable Maphure Manamela, there is a specific procedure that was followed regarding this type of case.
“These matters are referred to the court to determine who posted the photos on social media. Even though it was done from the partners phone, we cannot assume that he was the one who posted the photos,” Manamela said.

The complainant may also faces charges – local lawyer

According to Advocate Pat Molepo internet law prohibits people from distributing pornographic material. “It is a very serious charge and a person can be prosecuted for distribution of pornographic material and defamation of character,” Molepo said. According to Molepo even the complainant in the case can face the same consequences if their nude photos are distributed on social media. Molepo says people should prohibit others from gaining access to their pornographic material. He also says if someone posts naked photos of you on the internet you can talk to them but if all else fails you have the right to lay a criminal charge.
