POLOKWANE – With an increase in the number of municipal water pipe bursts in the city and this affecting the water quality, residents have been urging their friends and family to regularly check and clean their tap and washing machine filters. This is to ensure the dirt from the burst pipes does not damage their machines and dirt left after a pipe burst does not affect the water flow though the tap.

Follow these instruction to ensure the dirt from the burst pipes does not damage your washing machine.

By not regularly checking the filters, it is possible that the water inlet and outlet of a washing machine can become blocked and lead to the possibility of damage to the machine. This blockage can also lead to the machine consuming more electricity over time.

Mud and deposits from a pipe burst can also cause your water tap filters to get blocked resulting in low water flow, periodically cleaning these filters can get your water flow back to normal.

Check out the video to see how to clean these filters.
