ALERT: high catchment areas may experience low pressure, no water

The public is advised to use water sparingly. Watering of gardens is prohibited.

POLOKWANE – Lepelle Northern Water has sent out an urgent notification that the Ebenezer plant is not pumping water to Polokwane due to power failure.

Thus, areas in the high catchment such as Bendor, Aqua Park, Ster Park, Serala View and Flora Park will be affected and experience low pressure or shortage of water as the power failure will negatively impact reservoir levels which are already critically low.

By late yesterday afternoon, the Seshego reservoir was at 0% and temporary relief will be provided through water tankers in the area.

As it stands, Polokwane is receiving water from the Olifantspoort plant which is running at full capacity.

Residents in low catchment areas are advised to conserve water.

Water related issues should be reported to the municipality on 0152902376/2000/2001/2457
