Three each get life sentences for murder of shop owner

The three men entered the store and attacked and killed the 26-year-old man

LIMPOPO – Three men aged between 34 and 41 years old were each sentenced to life imprisonment for the robbery and murder of a shop owner in the Sekhukhune district in 2013, says the police.

According to Provincial Police Spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto, the three men entered the store in Maseven village pretending to customers. They attacked and killed the Pakistan shop owner, Muhhamad Imran (26). R4000 cash and groceries to the value of about R500 were also taken.

The same the police traced and arrested the three suspects, Daniel Ramakgaga (39) from Orlando East Soweto, Ramokgotsi Kgomotso Moimane (41) from Moedi Section Tembisa and Hlabiso Phillip (34) from Ga-Malekane Sekhukhune, in the Roossenekal area.

The men appeared before the court in Sekhukhune and were sentenced as follows: All three were sentenced to life imprisonment for armed robbery and murder and Ramakgaga and Moimane each received an additional 15 years on charges of possession of firearms and ammunition.
