Police apprehend two wanted suspects in Groblersdal

The suspects are connected to a series of violent crimes in Limpopo

LIMPOPO – Two suspects aged 37 and 53 were arrested in Groblersdal during a sting intelligence-led joint-operation which started at around 01:00 this morning (Thursday). According to a statement issued by LT. Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, these men were on a most wanted list.
The operation was conducted by Motetema Detectives, Groblersdal Detectives and the Jane Furse Crime Prevention Unit tracing this suspects. The men were wanted for multiple cases of armed robbery, car-jacking and house-breaking.
The police recovered the following items: One 9mm firearm, and three rounds of ammunition, two revolvers with 8 rounds of ammunition, both firearms had their serial numbers filed off, and one rifle’s ammunition.
The suspects are connected to a series of violent crimes committed in the Groblersdal area, and other parts of the province.

They will appear before the Nebo’ Magistrate’s Court soon on possession of firearms and ammunition without licence.

Police investigations are still continuing.
