Phalaphala FM’s new Marketing Manager

Rudzani Mashamba has eight years experience in the radio industry and hopes to use it to her advantage

LIMPOPO – Phalaphala’s new Marketing Manager, Rudzani Mashamba kicked off her campaign at the beginning of October and is expected to raise the station to new heights with innovative marketing strategies.

Mashamba got her big break after eight years in the business when her namesake, Rudzani Mulaudzi moved from SABC’s Phalaphala FM to Ikwekwezi FM in August. She will be responsible for developing marketing strategies that will assist in building the Phalaphala FM brand and on-air marketing support programming in order to increase the number of listeners and revenue for the station.

Before her promotion, Mashamba worked at Thobela FM as Marketing Assistant, responsible for assisting the marketing manager with the station’s strategy implementation, marketing the brand, customer and client service, among others.

From 2014 to date, Mashamba was intermittently the acting marketing manager for the same station. Before she joined the SABC, she worked as a sales representative and customer service assistant at South African Breweries (SAB) and Standard Bank respectively.

Mashamba said she feels humbled and grateful to have joined the station after the successful launch of its new Corporate Identity. “It is exciting that I have been awarded the opportunity to grow with the brand,” she said.

Armed with an IMM Graduate School of Marketing diploma and currently studying towards a postgraduate diploma in marketing management, she believes her experience in the marketing field will ensure she executes her responsibilities flawlessly.
