POLOKWANE – Municipal rubbish collectors are at work in the city every day, picking up household rubbish and waste. They work to a set schedule and visit different areas at different times of the week.
It has become apparent that not everyone in the city is aware of this schedule and rubbish bags are often left outside for days before they are collected.
Review got a hold of this schedule and now readers can be sure of when to put out their rubbish.
According to Municipal Spokesperson, Matshidiso Mothapo, it is not advisable to leave bags outside for days on end as stray animals rip open rubbish bags and litter is strewn around.
“If black bags are left outside and it is not the day for the municipality to pick them up, stray dogs and cats as well as homeless people open them up and that creates a mess. We urge residents to work according to the schedule,” Mothapo concluded.
