WATCH: MEC, learners sign honesty pledge

Gr 11 and 12 learners across the country are signing a pledge promising to remain honest during the exam period.

POLOKWANE – The pledge compels learners to avoid any type of irregularity during the examination period. Irregularities include copying and accepting or providing assistance to another learner in the exam proceedings.
Local schools are joining schools from all over the country in signing the pledge to show their support in making the final exams free of corruption and cheating.

“The Council of Education Minister approved that the candidates registered to write the National Senior Certificate (NSC) examination sign the pledge which means they are committed to complying with the Examination Code of Conduct applicable to all candidates,” Spokesperson for education, Dr Naledzan Rasila said.

The MEC for Education in Limpopo, Ishmael Kgetjepe visited Taxila Secondary School and Nirvana Secondary in Polokwane today (Friday) where learners signed the pledge.
