Student murdered: doctor denied bail

Doctor Ndivhuwo Mudau who allegedly killed his girlfriend appeared briefly before the Thohoyandou Magistrate's Court today

LIMPOPO –  Dr Ndivhuwo Mudau was denied bail after appearing briefly before the  Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court today (Friday).

Madau appeared on a charge of murder. He was remanded into custody with no bail granted and is set to reappear on the 3 November says provincial police spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

LIMPOPO – The Thohoyandou medical doctor who has been on the run from police since the discovery of his girlfriends body on Friday 7 October has handed himself this morning (Friday) says provincial police spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

Refilwe Makoma Masinamela (25) who was a  student at the University of Venda was last seen on  Monday 3 October until her body was discovered in the home of Doctor Ndivhuwo Mudau on Friday 7 October says Ngoepe.

“Her body was discovered with multiple stab wounds lying in his residence within the Tshilidzini Hospital yard at around 19:00 that evening,” said Ngoepe.

Preliminary reports earlier revealed that the deceased who is originally from Mapaana village, Bolodebu  outside Tzaneen and the suspect were lovers. The motive of the murder is still unknown but domestic violence has not been ruled out.

Madau is set to appear before the Thohoyandou Magistrate Court on Monday on a charge of murder.

Police investigations are still continuing.
