Aggie’s no chicken when it comes to food

Aggie Chicken Rush is the right place to satisfy your chicken craving.

POLOKWANE – The menu here is everything chicken-related, ranging from giblets and heads and feet to grilled chicken. All meals are served with a starch of choice such as chips, pap or rice, and served with appetising salads.

Owner, 141, says the restaurant offers people meals that are loved by everyone. She says chicken in particular has been a household hit and popular to such an extent that it is eaten on a daily basis in most homes. The chicken dishes she makes comes in various flavours such as mild or hot to accommodate her clients’ needs.

“I offer traditional cooked hardbody chicken as well.”

The restaurant is located in Seshego Zone 6, however it is also mobile in and around Polokwane.

“We prepare meals on request to serve for occasions such as parties,” she explains. She adds the business was established four years ago and has been doing well thus far. She has employed three people who assist in the shop on a daily basis. She is the head chef and is always willing to share her knowledge. “I love cooking, I spend a lot of my time in the kitchen experimenting with different recipes and flavours as a way of enhancing my skills.”

Aggie’s goals include opening more restaurants, even beyond the province, while she creates employment.

BONUS asked the bubbly chef if she will be introducing other meals but she says she makes chicken only. Aggie’s tips on the best grilled chicken include: “Use the best spices, marinade the meat and keep it in the fridge overnight. Do not overcook it and enhance the taste with spices of your choice.”
