It is believed the man was walking along the R71 near Motsepe tavern in the Mentz area when he was hit by a car.

LIMPOPO – Mankweng police are searching for the family of an unidentified male between the ages of 30 and 40, who was run over on Saturday, 8 October 2016.

It is believed the man was walking along the R71 near Motsepe tavern in the Mentz area when he was hit by a car. He was declared dead on the scene.

This follows a similar incident that took place a few months ago in the same area.

Police have advised pedestrians to take caution when walking next to the road. According to Mankweng police, the deceased was wearing grey trousers, a grey shirt, black jacket, orange hat with green stripes and brown Adidas shoes. He was dark in complexion.
“We are appealing to the motorists travelling along the R71 between Mathibaskraal and Boyne to reduce their speed. We also advise pedestrians to wear light coloured clothes, use marked pedestrian crossings and cross the road only when it is safe to do so,” Sgt Mosima Makgaba said.

Anyone who can help identify the deceased can contact Detective Col Maloma at 082 565 8524 or the Mankweng Police at 015 286 2000.
