Residents are advised to stay out of the sun as much as possible, stay hydrated by drinking a lot of water and to make sure their pets have cool, shady spots to get out of the heat along with enough water to keep them hydrated as well.

It is advisable to avoid drinking coffee, tea and alcohol as these can add to dehydration. Also keep a container of sunblock close by and apply it as often as possible, especially when you will be exposed to the sun.
