UPDATE: Reservoir levels still critically low

Water has been restored in some parts of the city that were affected by an earlier water shortage.

POLOKWANE – Areas such as Bendor are still without water.

A municipal statement reads as follows: “Water to areas affected on Thursday were restored in the afternoon and some in the evening. Due to high usage during peak times, particularly in the morning, the high lying areas will still experience low pressure and some no water.”

Matshidiso Mothapo a municipal spokesperson says reservoir levels are slowly rising but are still viewed as critical.

In the meantime the municipality have deployed water tankers to the affected areas as a temporary relief he adds.

Residents in the lower catchment areas are advised to limit water usage to domestic use only. Municipal water must not be utilised for watering of gardens.
