Lim sisters rake in titles on the international catwalk

Siblings Congi Nkuna (15) and Tiyi (13) made the country proud when they scooped several awards in the Miss Nations modelling competition held in Brazil recently.

LIMPOPO – The Miss Nations modelling competition was attended by several countries such as Japan, US, Italy and Brazil.

The older sister was crowned Miss Elegance of Nations 2016 while the younger was crowned Best Little Actress 2016 and second princess for Miss Pre-Teen Nations 2016.

They will represent their country again in August next year in Burgas, Bulgaria for the Miss Queen and King World competition.

The siblings are not new to this kind of competition, each having various titles which they won representing the country in Europe in 2014 and 2015. Tiyi was crowned 1st Princess Queen World in the Global Teen Competition in 2014.

In the same year she was also crowned second Princess in the Galaxy SA Competition, Miss Africa continent, Miss Personality, Miss Tourism and Miss Perfection in 2015 in a competition held in Turkey.

Congi, on the other hand was crowned Miss Summer Breeze 2012 in the Global Teen Competition, Miss Africa continent in 2015, 2nd Princess in the Miss Hittefees in the same year, as well as Miss Teen Queen World SA this year.

Congi is in gr 9 at Kingfisher Private School while Tiyi is in gr 7 at Laerskool Phalaborwa.

Congi started modelling at the age of 10 while Tiyi started at the age of 8, both at the Amone Modelling Academy in Phalaborwa.

Besides her modelling achievements, Congi is also a talented singer and a traditional dancer. She has been nominated to travel to Durban in December for singing auditions in a competition called Summer Heat Model and Talent search, while Tiyi has been nominated for acting auditions which start on 7 October in Krugersdorp.

Meanwhile their proud mother, Flora Mabaso-Nkuna, pleads with companies to sponsor the girls as models or ambassadors for their businesses.

“They are very good at what they do but without sponsorship, it is very difficult for them to pursue their dreams,” she said appealing to companies to come on board and sponsor her daughters
