Spirit of womanhood is a beacon of hope

Mrs Polokwane finalist, Leolin Adonis hosted her Beauty for Ashes event at the Westenburg Community Hall on Saturday evening.

POLOKWANE – The event saw Westenburg residents dressed up and ready to support Leolin. Guest speakers included Clara Mdlalose, Simoné Aronje-Adetoye and Patricia Raphesu. There was a special appearance by artist Ntsikwane Raphesu and a dance by William Khalo. The main theme of the evening was celebrating the spirit of womanhood with each guest speaker touching on different aspects thereof. Patricia Raphesu’s talk focused on personal finance and she spoke of her own personal challenges with finance. “The one tip I will give to women when it comes to finance is that your habits make your finances and as a woman, you must have financial goals,” she told BONUS.

Leolin’s charity of choice is the Westenburg Rugby Club and through her fund-raising efforts, she hopes to help them build the Westenburg Rugby Stadium. She says that being a finalist makes her feel as if she has achieved something and the beauty for ashes theme was to celebrate women who have been through a lot but never give up on their dreams.

“If I win the Mrs Polokwane title, the people of Westenburg will have someone to look up to,” she told BONUS. The event was also attended by the reigning Mrs Polokwane, Jackie Shrives, Mrs Polokwane 2014, Nadia du Preez as well as Mrs South Africa top 25 finalist, Shoni Mulaudzi.
