Tip-off leads to drug bust in Mankweng

Teamwork between the police and the community led to the arrest of a man in possession of marijuana with an estimated street value of R6 000.

POLOKWANE – After a tip-off from the community, the Police K9 Unit investigated and found the dagga in the man’s possession in Nobody outside Mankweng on Friday.

Mankweng Police Spokesperson, Capt Mohlaka Mashiane, confirmed that the suspect was arrested for the possession of marijuana, but will not appear before the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court because he signed an admission of guilt and paid a fine.

“We are working tirelessly to ensure our streets are clear of drugs and safe for all. We warn residents not to get involved in criminal activities because they will be arrested and face the long arm of the law,” Mashiane said.
