Six killed in Limpopo accidents

Anyone who can assist in the identification of the two deceased in the accident near Klaserie, should contact the Hoedspruit Police station.

LIMPOPO – Six people have died in road accidents in the province recently. The Mecklenburg Police outside Lebowakgomo are investigating a case of culpable homicide after three people died in a motor vehicle accident in Mooihoek village. It was reported that two vehicles collided head-on and all the occupants of one of the vehicles died on the scene. The deceased are from same family, identified as Nikkel, Michael and Kagiso Matlou.

“The two occupants of the other car were admitted to the local hospital for medical treatment,” Lt. Col Moatshe Ngoepe stated.

The Police in Hoedspruit outside Phalaborwa are also investigating two separate cases of culpable homicide. The first occurred along the R40 near Klaserie where it is alleged a motorist lost control of his vehicle, hit a tree and the only two occupants died on the scene. The identities of the deceased are unknown.

Another accident along the R40 near Kapama Lodge claimed the life of one passenger while the rest sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the hospital. The deceased has been identified however the family has not been notified as yet.

“The cause of all three accidents is still unknown and investigations are still continuing,” Ngoepe continued.

Anyone who can assist in the identification of the two deceased in the accident near Klaserie, should contact the Hoedspruit Police station. Motorists are once more advised to be responsible on the road.
