POLOKWANE – University of Limpopo students won’t be attending classes for the next few days following management’s decision to suspend all academic activity for two days to engage with students on matters pertaining to the Minister of Higher Education and Training, Blade Nzimande’s recent announcement regarding the study fee increase for 2017.
According to the statement released by the University, the possible impact of the announcement on the University of Limpopo students was explained in detail to them. Management expressed their belief that the majority of their students will experience a no-fee increase for 2017. All academic activity at the University of Limpopo will resume on Wednesday.
One of the students told Review the students will meet again tomorrow to discuss the way forward. She further said the majority of the students were not present hence their decision to meet again on Tuesday.
