The five suspects were arrested at the SAPS Rivati Policing Precinct.

lOUIS TRICHARDT – Five suspects between the ages of 20 and 44 have been arrested in connection with burglaries and possession of suspected stolen property.

The five suspects, including a police captain attached to Ritavi Police Precinct detective, were arrested in connection with a burglary that took place at a Totalsports store in Louis Trichardt last week. Members of the Makhado Detective Services joined forces with the Crime Intelligence Unit which led to the search and consequent arrest of the five suspects at the SAPS Rivati Policing Precinct. They recovered stolen items to the value of over R100 000, including cell phones and clothing said Brig Mojapelo.

The police captain was found in possession of two stolen T-shirts, and a tablet. She will appear along with her co-accused in the Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 27 September, on charges of possession of suspected stolen property, and housebreaking adds Mojapelo.

Investigations are continuing as the possibility exists that the suspects may be linked to other crimes.
