Trust comes to the aid of pre-school learners

A crèche in Burgersfort gets a refreshing donation

BURGERSFORT – The country has been hit with a drought that has left many small towns and villages desperate for water.

It came as a great relief when the Peermont Tubatse Community Trust donated a water tank to a local crèche in Burgersfort recently in order for the learners to get an education without being concerned with the state of their drinking water. For nearly two years, the Masethankge Community Crèche has been a beneficiary of the Peermont Tubatse Community Trust. With R150 000 already invested in the crèche, the trust recently donated a 5 000 liter water tank that is connected to a local borehole.

The benefits of running water means the children can now adopt more hygienic practices that are often taken for granted, including washing their hands and flushing toilets. The head of the crèche comments that the running water will help eradicate disease and ultimately improve the children’s overall health.

The trust also donated an electric fence which was put up around the facility to keep the learners safe and deter criminals.
