Handy tips when reporting crime

With the increase in armed robberies in Mokopane of late, the police appeal to the community to be on high alert and report any suspicious activity.

MOKOPANE –  They further appeal to all residents that when they report suspicious activity give as much information as possible regarding the person.

For example, the number plate of the vehicle and a description of what the person looked like are just some of the vital information needed.

This will assist in the swift arrest of criminals. Mokopane Police Station Commander, Col Leshoaneng Mantjane, said: “In most cases these suspects use the same modus operandi, they will enter the business under the pretence to buy something, but in actual fact they are only seeing how secure the premises are”.

Mantjane appeals to all security companies, the Community Policing Forum (CPF) and neighbourhood watches to work with the police in reducing the crime rate in town.
