Elica Primary ups their game for spring

Elica Primary School decided to combine Casual Day with Spring Day and dressed up accordingly to welcome the new season.

POLOKWANE – Not only does the beginning of September herald the start of spring, it is also time for Casual Day and all the fun it entails.

Stephan Neveling, one of the teachers, said: “We start with exams on 2 September and that is why we decided to celebrate Casual Day today so the learners can enjoy the day to the fullest”.

All the teachers and personnel along with the learners dressed in sport and active attire in accordance with this year’s Casual Day theme – Up Your Game. There was a surfer, a ballerina, a golfer, soccer players and spectators to name but a few of the inventive outfits. The pre-school girls wore light and brightly coloured spring dresses, looking like fresh flowers in spring to celebrate the change of the season.

“I am a gymnast. It is fun to dress up and go to school. I’m glad it’s time for warmer weather and bright flowers,” says Alice Da-Gama, one of the learners.
