Triple murder accused denied bail

A 20-year-old suspect arrested for a recent double murder in the outskirts of Polokwane appeared in the Mankweng Magistrate Court today (Tuesday) on three counts of murder.

POLOKWANE – Madia Alpheus Maboya of Makotopong village is accused of murdering Moloko Enestinah Nkoana (88) and her domestic worker Maggie Molefe (44). He was also been linked to the murder of his 82-year-old grandmother, Mosebodi Jane Maboya, from Makotopong Village in August 2014.

Madia Alpheus Maboya of Makotopong village was remanded in custody to allow for further police investigations. His bail application is set for 16 September said police spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

The partly decomposed bodies of Moloko Enestinah Nkoana (88) and her domestic worker Maggie Molefe (44), were found by Nkoana granddaughter on 23 August when she went to visit.

“Preliminary investigations showed that Nkoana may have been strangled and that Molefe died from multiple stab wounds to her body,” explained Ngoepe.

The second suspect, who was arrested after found to be in the possession of the deceased’s cellphones and a jacket, will appear in the Mankweng Magistrate Court this week on the charge of possession of suspected stolen properties.

Police investigations continue he concluded.
