Justice fraternity celebrates their women

As the women of 1956 and the 21st century continue to be honoured this Women's month, women in the justice cluster were also given an opportunity to shine.

POLOKWANE – This included women from the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) , Office of the chief justice and Legal Aid respectively. The Director of public prosecutions Ivy Thenga was the day’s main speaker and she said it is important for women to work towards a purpose. “It is imperative that women in various sectors of the society including the legal fraternity are mobilised to embrace the unity of purpose in their diverse sectors and contribute in bringing justice to women,” Thenga said.

Thenga said although there is nothing wrong with women standing alone, more can be achieved if they collaborate with their male counterparts . “Women should walk shoulder to shoulder with men to achieve a common goal. It is time to stand up. Be it in running households successfully or the accomplishment of a project in the office as well as contributing towards the nation’s development,” Thenga concluded.
