Polokwane mayor hopes residents will make use of this new transport system as this is a initiative to ease the burden and uplift residents.
She further said Leeto la Polokwane will not only help ease congestion on our roads by making the use of public transport a viable option for motorists, but it will also improve residents’ quality of life by saving them time, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving traffic safety and increasing physical activity.
“As the municipality, we officially commission the name Leeto la Polokwane, our solution for a seamless, affordable, safe and efficient transportation system for all our people,” she concluded.
“The new transport system will make life better for all and, more importantly, it will keep people safe from harm,” Mathabatha said.
“Today we can proudly say that the people of Polokwane have spoken; they did not only embrace the idea of an integrated public transport system; they went as far as determining a name for the system,” he continued. He concluded by saying: “Indeed, Leeto la Polokwane places our province on equal footing with other provinces that have also catered to the transport needs of its people”.
